Reading Tutors
Tutors are needed to work with adults and children in our Literacy Programs. Tutors help adults with improving academic skills and GED preparation and children with homework and other activities. The length of the assignment varies and based on individuals student's needs.
Tutors Must:
• Be 18 years of age and have a GED or High School Diploma.
• Have 12 hours of tutor training as required by the State of Michigan which is provided by the Genesee County Literacy Coalition.
• Have patience, a love of reading or math and a desire to help others succeed.
Income Tax Preparers
Become a certified tax preparer to help individuals with low to moderate income prepare their federal, state and local income tax returns. Certification classes are held twice per week for approximately 5 hours each week. Classes run from November through January of each year.
